Job Purpose
Manages a team of designers and architects, and coordinates most, if not all, aspects of projects from the conception stage and design through construction and project completion, working in both the office and field. Organizes, and reviews building plans, making sure projects meet environmental, safety, structural, zoning, and aesthetic standards. Monitors project performance and progress, and assures the architectural teams meet quality, schedule, contractual, and budget goals and that all phases of the construction process are in compliance with building plans and project deadlines.
Responsibilities
Implement client projects through the leadership of project teams; Provide leadership to client and team by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule
Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and contractors
Prepare project proposals and negotiate contracts and fees; bid projects to multiple general contractors
Track and manage the financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, change orders, billings and collections)
Manage project lifecycle; estimating, bidding, project kick-off, weekly coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, and project close-out
Involvement in business development and leading project proposals
Participates in evaluating and selecting architectural and engineering consultants.
Interacts with engineers, contractors, and construction personnel.
Collaborates with governmental agencies and selected project architectural firms.
Interprets and implements building codes.
Tracks the financial aspect of the projects.
Manages the preparation of construction documents by others.
Assumes responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and internal approval of materials and construction.
Participates in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
Qualifications
5+ years of related experience, managing projects and teams on projects
Ability to communicate in English in written and verbal form with the project team
Professional license or certification preferred
Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects
Experience with the full project lifecycle, through post-occupancy
Working knowledge of Bluebeam
Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
Strong technical understanding of architectural design, interior and furniture design
Excellent time management and organization skills
Experience with project management software, such as BQE Core and Basecamp a plus
Experience with office software, such as G Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Evernote, and Dropbox a plus
Must be eligible to work in the US.
