Project Architect/Designer

Full-Time 

Rate of Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year (depending on experience)

Nielsen Studios is a boutique architecture-led creative design firm rooted in the Bay Area for over three decades. Our full-service firm allows our clients to work with us from the planning stages to construction, allowing them to start and complete their projects with our unique client-centered process. Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a well-rounded teammate to hop on our bus with us! Ideally, someone able to handle various assignments and daily responsibilities that can vary greatly. You will work with our Team to bring projects to fruition.

You will produce technical documentation as necessary or manage production team members, and communicate project progress to the required team members and our clients to exceed our client's expectations.

Your Qualifications:

  • Active license (or a path to licensing) with 5-10 years of experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field

  • Working knowledge of Archicad or Revit

  • Knowledge of residential and commercial building codes, standards, and building structures

  • Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form with the project team

  • Basic technical understanding of architectural design, interior, and furniture design

  • Ownership and accountability for firm-wide success

  • Superior leadership, communication skills, and highly organized

  • High level of design competence and expertise

  • Must understand and be able to articulate the brand aesthetic

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the project team to develop and execute appropriate design solutions for projects

  • Ensure the integrity of the design based on the client's vision

  • Prepare graphic materials for presentations to clients

  • Prepare study models as necessary

  • Review bids and contracts related to the project for content and accuracy for the final review

  • Research alternative solutions for budget constraints

  • Perform site inspections for verification of design intent

  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives

  • Review shop drawings for design intent, review mock-ups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors

  • LEED accreditation

  • Experience with project management software, such as Core and Basecamp

  • Experience with office software, such as G Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Evernote, Dropbox, Miro
